Boys Vandalized Men’s Restroom Sign in Water Street Park, Police Say

Two boys–aged 13 and 14–are charged as juveniles with the summary offenses of criminal mischief and dangerous burning, after Hellertown Police say they set fire to and melted the men’s restroom sign in Water Street Park last month.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said officers began investigating the alleged incident after the sign was discovered damaged Jan. 5.

“Video surveillance depicted the juvenile males,” who were subsequently identified and charged, police said.
