George Stanley Brandes, 86, of Williams Township died March 9, 2018 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem Township. He was the husband of Nellie S. (Slonecki) Brandes. He was born in Allentown on Aug. 27, 1931 to the late George Henry and Rhea May (Stamm) Brandes. He was a 1953 graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Engineering. Stanley was an electrical design engineer for Baldor Electric Company (ABB) in Arkansas for 25 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus RC Church, Hellertown. Stanley was an avid reader and a train and Civil War enthusiast.

In addition to his loving wife of 60 years; children: Stephanie J. (John) Marlin of Hellertown, George R. (Barbara) of Raleigh, N.C., Ellen B. (Christopher) Nagle of Hampton, N.J., Mary E. (Thomas) Wood of Wooster, Ohio, Thomas J. (Nancy) of Bowie, Md.; 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister: Janet E.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.
