Hundreds Without Power in Wassergass

At least several hundred PPL customers in the Wassergass section of Lower Saucon Township are without power after a wire came down in the 3900 block of Lower Saucon Road Friday afternoon.

At least several hundred PPL customers in the Wassergass section of Lower Saucon Township are without power after a wire came down in the 3900 block of Lower Saucon Road Friday afternoon.
The power company has been notified and crews are responding to the scene after the township police department reportedly contacted them.
Police said the cause of the outage was a transformer and wire fire.
According to the PPL outage center map, as of 3:45 p.m. 333 customers were without power along Lower Saucon Road, Wassergass Road, Williams Church Road, Bergstresser Drive, Crestline Drive, Alpine Drive, Apple Street, Kings Mill Road and other local roads in the area south of Easton Road and north of Banko Lane.
PPL estimates that power will be restored to those customers by 7:30 p.m.
There are also 13 customers without power in the area of Main and W. Saucon streets in Hellertown borough, according to the PPL map.
Those customers should have power restored by 7 p.m.
A cause for that outage was not indicated on the map.
