Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release Friday that they have identified a person of interest in a homicide that took place in the 1100 block of Centre Street, Williams Township, Monday at 9:30 p.m. The area is close to the township’s border with South Easton and not far from I-78.

It was at that time that police say an unidentified person approached a parked vehicle in which Shyheem J. Smith, 42, of Easton, was a passenger, and shot him. Smith later died as a result of the shooting at an area hospital.

Police said they have identified the person of interest in this homicide case as Willie Sam Wallace, 31, of Allentown.

They identified him as a black male and said he has an active felony warrant out of Bucks County.

According to online court records, that warrant is for Felony 1 aggravated assault and other charges and was issued by Quakertown Borough Police in January. Wallace’s address is listed as Quakertown in court documents.
