A project involving the replacement of a 48-inch metal pipe that carries water beneath Easton Road to the east branch of the Saucon Creek will result in a 7.9-mile detour while the road there is closed for three weeks early next year, Channel 69 News recently reported.

PennDOT described the project at the April 18 Lower Saucon Township Council meeting, telling council that it will last from January to March 2019 and involve replacing theĀ  existing pipe with one that is 72 inches in diameter as well as the construction of an impact basin, the installation of new guide rail and paving.
