UPDATE (Oct. 31, 2018): Altar’d State is now open.

A new store that specializes in selling women’s fashions, home decor and gifts–with a spiritual twist–will open at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township sometime this fall.

“Altar’d State offers a place of respite and a distinctive shopping experience with the latest fashion finds, the most sought-after accessories, charming home décor and gifts,” the lifestyle center says on its website, where the store is listed on its “New & Opening Soon” page. “The company seeks to inspire through action and supports a mission of standing out for good in the world.”

According to the Promenade Shops website:

Altar’d State has pioneered connecting retail with goodwill through efforts ranging from donations in local communities, offering a generous volunteer program for employees, and funding child-focused, global initiatives that support social development efforts in underserved areas in Peru. Altar’d State is a globally-minded company that is dedicated to creating not only a unique retail environment that is inspiring and uplifting, but also giving back to the world around us through philanthropic efforts of every kind.

One of the other things that makes Altar’d State a different kind of store–and company–is that it accepts prayer requests on its website, and makes prayer request books available in its dressing rooms.

The Altar’d State store at the Promenade Shops will be the first in the area and will be located in Suite 613, between Zales and Evolve Salon & Spa, in the Town Square area near Starbucks.

It will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the Promenade Shops website.

According to the Altar’d State company website, the first store in the chain was opened by Aaron Walters and Brian Mason “as a modest Christian retail store and coffee shop” in Knoxville, Tenn., in November 2009.

The following year, Altar’d State began selling fashion apparel, jewelry, gifts and accessories, and over the past eight years the chain has grown rapidly to include nearly 100 stores, most of which are located in the South and Midwest.

Until the Promenade Shops store opens, the nearest Altar’d State store is one at the King of Prussia Mall near Philadelphia.

According to the company website, as of 2018 Altar’d State is headquartered in Maryville, Tenn., and has stores in 28 states, “with plans to continue growth” under the direction of its founders.
