Saucon Valley football fans are ready to cheer for the undefeated Panther varsity football team in their Homecoming game against the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers Friday night.
The enthusiasm for the hometown team’s big game under Friday night’s lights was more than evident at Thursday night’s Community Pep Rally in the high school gym.
The Saucon Valley Panther, cheerleaders, football players and the high school marching band all helped bring the excitement level to a fever pitch, which made up a bit for the lack of the traditional Homecoming bonfire, which had to be postponed because of rain.
Other highlights of the pep rally were the recognition of the senior members of the football team, the cheerleading squad and the girls soccer team.
The presentation of the 2018 Homecoming Court at the pep rally was followed by the crowning of the Saucon Valley Homecoming King–an honor that went to Calver Gallard.
During halftime at the game, the 12 Homecoming Court members will again be presented on the field and the 2018 Homecoming Queen will be crowned.
The Panthers are currently 7-0 in the Colonial League. The Tigers are 5-2 in the league.
If you are attending the game, you will need to dress warmer than in weeks past, as the game time temperature will be in the 50s.
