The former Hero Electric property at 520 Main Street, Hellertown, is now available for lease.

A landmark downtown Hellertown commercial property is now available for lease.

The first floor of the building that for decades housed hobby shop and appliance store Hero Electric–which closed upon its owners’ recent retirement–could be the future home of a restaurant, a retail business or something else.

The property at 520 Main Street offers more visibility than some other downtown storefronts because of its unique location at the traffic light at the end of Penn Street.

Along with a double-door front entrance, the 6,800 square-foot space includes side and rear entrances as well as “two basements, one of which is great for retail trade,” according to its listing.

The lease price per square foot is $16, which equals a rental price of approximately $9,000 per month.

The property is listed by Debrah Rowland of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Valley Partners. For more information, call 610-398-1967.
