If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley might have just what you’re looking for.

The Upper Saucon Township lifestyle center will host its first Fire & Ice Festival Saturday, Jan. 19 from noon to 4 p.m. And the forecast is for a seaonably chilly day–possibly with snow on the way.

The event will feature ice sculpting demonstrations, fire and dance performances and other fun activities throughout the shopping center, the Promenade Shops announced.

Barnes & Noble will kick things off Saturday at 11 a.m. with National Story Time, during which they will read a wintry tale or two.

Shoppers can then stop by the Capital Blue store from noon to 2 p.m. to warm up with some hot chocolate and a cookie.

Things (will) begin to heat up at 12 p.m., when Claire De Luxe takes to Town Square presented by Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital for a fire and dance performance,” a news release from the Promenade Shops said. “These performances will run every 30 minutes until 4 p.m. The ice sculpting demonstration will also begin at 12 p.m., with Ice Concepts creating an Arctic masterpiece on The Patio stage until 3 p.m. When the sculpture is complete, guests are invited to take pictures with the sculpture.”

From 1 to 2 p.m., Doug Kobrin of Earth + Atrophyz will be performing inside the New Balance store, and from 1 to 3 p.m. there will be sushi snacks served by KOMÉ Fine Japanese Cuisine at the fire pit across from the movie theater multiplex.

Other festival highlights to look for:

  • Red Robin Gourmet Burgers will offer a special Fire & Ice cocktail or mocktail all day.
  • Plow & Hearth will have a warming station in front of their store as well as a drawing for a chance to win a fire pit.
  • Save 10 percent off your entire purchase–including already marked down items–at SneakerKing. Plus, enjoy a cookie (or two).
  • Save 20 percent off everything in store at GailGray Home Furnishings and Design (some exceptions apply).
  • Peeps & Company will sample their Hot Tamales Fire & Ice brand and offer 15 percent off hoodies and winter hats if you mention the festival.
  • Stop in during the Festival and book an appointment for any time in January at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa and receive $5 off a Hot Stone or $5 off a 25-minute Cold Stone Face Massage.

According to the Promenade Shops, the event and its activities are weather dependent.

Any changes or updates will be posted on their website.

All giveaways and promotional items will be available only while supplies last.
