Are you looking for a couch potato and a dog that will go for hike? Well, Dolly is your girl! Super sweet, easy to handle, a cuddlebug and playful, Dolly is a little over a year old.
She can be shy when she first meets someone new, but after a little while she warms up and cuddles up to them for some love. She’s also very dog friendly. As with meeting new people she can be a little nervous and shy when meeting a new dog, but after a bit she’ll be running around and playing with them! Dolly can be a rough player at times, but she listens fairly well.

Dolly would be OK with children, but since she’s a cattle dog there is a chance she may herd small children. Older children will be a better fit for Dolly. She would also do well with an active family that will exercise her but also give her a job so she doesn’t get bored. Cattle dogs are very smart dogs, and if they don’t get enough exercise or mental stimulation they can get bored and become destructive or develop behavioral issues.
When cat-tested, Dolly didn’t pay any attention to them at first. Once the cats started moving they caught her attention. There was no aggressive behavior shown, but there’s a possibility that she will try to herd them.

The center is open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. Note: If a dog you would like to meet is housed at the shelter please call the front desk to prearrange a visit. Prescheduling a visit will give you the time needed to see if the dog you’re interested in is a good fit. Unscheduled visits with dogs are allowed, but are limited to one dog per day for a maximum of 15 minutes per visit.
