Moravian University will hold its 282nd commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. on John Makuvek Field on its Main Street campus in Bethlehem, the university announced. The ceremony will cap a weekend of celebrating the school’s new graduates and will follow Intercultural Graduation and Baccalaureate, which are both being held Friday, May 3.

“Every class that graduates from Moravian University is special, but the Class of 2024 is unique in that most never had a traditional high school graduation, due to the pandemic,” said Moravian College president Bryon Grigsby. “We know that these students have gone through a lot just to reach this important milestone and we’re thrilled to help celebrate this accomplishment with the students, as well as their family and friends.”

Moravian said it will award nearly 500 bachelor’s degree candidates, more than 200 graduate’s degree candidates and 32 doctoral degree candidates during Saturday’s ceremony, which will include addresses by Vice President and Dean for Equity and Inclusion Dr. G. Christopher Hunt, Todd Reedy, Class of 2024, and graduate student Debra Fraser-Howze, Class of 2024.

Dr. Honnie Patricia Spencer ’90 will receive an honorary degree.
