Panther Mascot Name Announced, SVSD News & Updates: Feb. 24, 2025
SVSD MASCOT NAMED: After an exciting voting period, the district recently announced that its beloved Panther mascot will be called Shadow! Congratulations were extended to Lauren Sakasitz’s class, Kellie King’s class, Laurie Paulson’s class, Beth Ravier’s class and Ann LeMaster’s class for choosing the creative and fun name.

MONTHLY ‘MIND OF THE ATHLETE’ PRESENTATION BY DR. JARROD SPENCER: March’s presentation theme is ‘Leadership: The Leadership Legacy Principle.’ All sessions are held in the HS Auditorium. March 10: Athletes 2:30 p.m., coaches 5:30 p.m., parents/community 6:30 p.m.
COMMENCEMENT 2025 DATE ANNOUNCED: The SVHS Senior Class will have its commencement ceremony on Friday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m., at the Montford E. Illick Stadium (rain date: June 7).
SV SENIOR & BAVTS PARTNER WIN AUTOMOTVE COMPETITION: Congratulations to SVHS Senior George Lookenbill, along with his BAVTS partner Braiden Binder, who won the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association Automotive Technology Competition.
SVHS WRESTLING DISTRICT XI AA CHAMPIONS: Congratulations to Jackson Albert, Carter Chunko, Aiden Grogg, Cole Hubert, Jared Rohn and Mack Santoro!
SENIOR CITIZEN REBATE DEADLINE: The Senior Citizen property tax/rent rebate deadline for the 2023-2024 tax year is April 30, 2025. If you have questions, contact the business office at 610-838-7001 and select the option for the business office.
MUSIC & THEATRE: Saucon Valley High School is proud to present its 2025 spring show: ‘The Addams Family School Edition.’ Show dates: Thursday, April 10 – 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 11 – 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12 – 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 – 2 p.m. Performances take place in the High School Auditorium. Tickets for the show will be sold online at starting March 20 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets sold online and in advance are discounted and allow patrons to select their preferred seat. Tickets will also be sold at the door, but the theatre program encourages everyone who is able to to purchase their tickets in advance.
SVHS POPS CONCERT: The POPS concert will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

SVES PTO SEEKING NEW MEMBERS: Looking for a fun way to get involved in your child’s school? Here are some words from current SVES PTO officers: “Serving the Saucon Valley Community brings me great joy,” said Brittany, current Vice President. “I joined the PTO because I love being involved, and supporting the teachers any way I can,” said Carla, the Parliamentarian. “I believed joining the PTO would be a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and support the SVES community,” said Andi, Communication Secretary.
