3-Alarm House Fire Extinguished in Lower Saucon

The home that was damaged by fire Thursday is located in the 3800 block of Mockingbird Hill Road, Lower Saucon Township.

Roads in the area of Easton Road and Mockingbird Hill Road in Lower Saucon Township have reopened following a three-alarm fire that broke out at a home in the 3800 block of Mockingbird Hill Thursday morning.

In a post on their Crimewatch site, Lower Saucon Township Police said that as of around 10 a.m. Thursday “multiple fire departments” had responded to the fire scene, which is in a semi-rural area about a mile northeast of Hellertown.

As of 12:45 p.m., roads were again open to traffic, although some first responder vehicles were still parked near the home, where a number of people could be seen standing outside.

Fire scene investigators appeared to be examining the damage to the two-and-a-half story home, which included a large section of blackened siding extending from a second floor window up to the roofline.

Authorities have not yet disclosed if there were any injuries as a result of the blaze or said what caused it.

The fire broke out on a day when the National Weather Service warned that there is an increased risk for wildfires to spread, due to low humidity and winds gusting up to 25 mph. The warning area includes, Northampton, Bucks and Lehigh counties.
