Work Under Way on S. Bethlehem Taco Bell: Photos

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If you live in the Hellertown area and are a fan of Taco Bell, your “run for the border” will soon be shorter.

Work is under way on a new restaurant and drive-thru that will be located at 1620 E. Fourth Street in South Bethlehem.

The new Taco Bell will be located next to a Sheetz convenience store that opened in May 2024.

Channel 69 News reported in August 2023 that the Taco Bell will have parking for 32 cars.

A building taking shape at 1620 E. Fourth Street in Bethlehem will be home to a Taco Bell sometime in the near future.

Work is also under way on an access road between the restaurant and Lynn Avenue, which intersects with E. Fourth Street just west of where it is being built.

There are currently 10 Taco Bell locations in the Lehigh Valley, according to Taco Bell’s website. Those restaurants are located in Easton, Bethlehem, Whitehall, Allentown, Breinigsville and Walnutport. There is also a Taco Bell on Rt. 309 in Richland Township near Quakertown.

An opening date for the new Taco Bell on Bethlehem’s South Side has not yet been announced.

The opening of what is now Wind Creek Casino nearby in 2009 has spurred significant development along the Rt. 412 corridor between the casino and the Rt. 412 interchange on I-78 in recent years.

In addition to a Wawa that opened near Saucon Park in December 2023, a Lehigh Valley Health Network neighborhood hospital and medical office building is currently under construction just south of the highway overpass, and a Sheetz convenience store is proposed for an adjacent property at the north end of Hellertown borough.
