Southern Lehigh School News & Notes is a regular feature about current and upcoming district events & news. The Southern Lehigh School District serves over 3,000 students from Upper Saucon Township, Lower Milford Township & Coopersburg borough.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS: Monday, April 14 & Monday, April 28, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Southern Lehigh High School Boardroom, 5800 Main St., Center Valley. View the April 14 meeting agenda here.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: To be registered, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025. Registration information may be found at Slsd.org.

SPRING BREAK: All schools will be closed from Thursday, April 17 to Monday, April 21 for spring break. Schools will also be closed Friday, May 2 for a Professional Learning Day.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM COLORS DAY: On April 16, wear your team color: Hurricane-Blue, Cyclone: Purple, Tornado: Yellow.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPRING PARENT ENGAGEMENT NIGHT: Parents are invited to attend the SLMS Spring Parent Engagement Night Tuesday, April 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come to SLMS to experience the Mock Teen Bedroom and learn about cyber bullying from fantastic community partners. For parents who missed the previous incoming middle school parent night event, the presentations are available here and here.

SLMS 7th GRADE TRIP: This year, seventh-grade will take a field trip to Coca-Cola Park in Allentown to see the Lehigh Valley IronPigs vs. the Buffalo Bisons. The cost of the Tuesday, May 20 trip includes transportation, game ticket and a bagged lunch (hot dog, chips amd water bottle). Additional concessions are card-only. PSSA & KEYSTONE TESTING: Southern Lehigh students will be taking PSSA and Keystone exams from late April through mid May. View the testing schedule and learn how families can help students prepare for the tests on the district’s website.
