Elsie M. Yeakel (1937 – 2025)

Elsie M. Yeakel, 87, of Steel City, died Monday, April 14, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Stewart W. Yeakel Sr. Elsie was born in Riegelsville, Pa., on Dec. 9, 1937 to the late Walter and Bessie (Harrison) Strawn. She had worked on the production line at Hanka Pierogi, Hellertown, for 20 years. Elsie was a member of St. Luke’s Old Williams Lutheran Church, Williams Township. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and word search.

SURVIVORS

She is survived by her loving children: Susan M. of Bethlehem, Brian W. (Tammy) of Hellertown; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by children: Stewart W. Jr. and Brenda Lee Pfeiffer; siblings: Howard, Walter, Edith, Virginia, Gladys and Harold.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to Elsie’s visitation period from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The visitation period will be followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
