2 Skimming Devices Found on Wawa ATMs, Police Say
An upper Bucks County police department issued an advisory Monday to alert customers to the fact that skimming devices were recently discovered on ATMs at an area Wawa.
According to Hilltown Township Police, two skimming devices were found on PNC ATMs in the Wawa at 3520 Bethlehem Pike in Souderton. Police said one device was discovered and removed on Monday, May 5, and a second device was located and removed on Sunday, May 11.
“At this time, it is unknown how long the devices were on each of the machines,” police said in a post on Crimewatch Monday.
Police are advising anyone who used either ATM between May 1 and May 11 to “be vigilant” in monitoring their bank accounts and to contact their bank and/or local police department if they discover any unauthorized activity has occurred.
“We are currently investigating these devices and working with Wawa to obtain video as soon as possible,” police said. “We will update the public with any new information once it is made available.”
