Local Students Nominated for Freddy Awards

There is exciting news for the performing arts programs at area high schools. This week, Saucon Valley High School received two Freddy Award nominations for its production The Addams Family, School Edition, and Southern Lehigh High School received four nominations for its production of Legally Blonde the Musical.

At Saucon, Kristen Lussier–who played Ballerina Ancestor–was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Featured Dancer. Ryan Pakzad, who played Uncle Fester, was nominated for Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actor.

At Southern Lehigh, Jenna Seasholtz–who played Elle Woods–was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Noah Shafer, who played Gradmaster Chad and Others, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Ensemble Member; Emerson Tyrell, who played Paulette Bonafonte, was nominated for both Best Supporting Actress and Solo Vocal Performance for the song Ireland; and the Stage Crew was nominated for Outstanding Stage Crew.

The Freddy Awards are held at the State Theatre in Easton and will be broadcast live on WFMZ-TV on Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m. Watch to see who from among a talented lineup of Lehigh Valley high school students takes home the coveted trophies.
