Easton, Ringhoffer Roads to Be Closed for Gas Pipeline Work
Parts of Easton Road and Ringhoffer Road in Lower Saucon Township will be intermittently or totally closed to all but local traffic in the coming days and weeks for gas pipeline construction.
Township police shared an announcement about the road closures in a post on their Crimewatch site Thursday.
Ringhoffer Road between Easton and Sherry Hill roads will be closed to through traffic from Wednesday, June 4 through Friday, June 20 for the installation of a pipeline by a UGI contractor. Police said the work area will include the intersection of Ringhoffer and Easton roads.
Easton Road will be closed to through traffic nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday, Wednesday, June 18 to Thursday, July 31, for the contractor’s installation of a new pipeline between Church Lane and the UGI metering and regulating station just east of Ringhoffer Road, the alert said.
Officials said the dates provided are approximate and subject to change according to weather conditions and construction progress.
Motorists who utilize Ringhoffer and Easton roads in the affected areas are being advised to consider using alternate routes.
Detours around the closed roads will utilize Countryside Lane, Applebutter Road, Shimersville Road/Hellertown Road in Bethlehem and Main Street/Cherry Lane in Hellertown, according to a map that was shared by the township.
