Man Sentenced in Double Homicide, Aggravated Assault Case
A 19-year-old Schnecksville man will spend decades in prison for a double murder he committed in Northampton County and the aggravated assault of a teenager in Lehigh County, the Northampton County District Attorney’s office said Thursday.
John Derwin Bradley was 17 he murdered his girlfriend and her mother in their North Catasauqua home in September 2023. Tried as an adult, he was captured after intentionally crashing a vehicle he was driving on Spring Valley Road in Upper Saucon Township.
According to a Sept. 4, 2025 news release from the DA’s office, both Bradley and a 14-year-old female passenger were seriously injured in the wreck, in which Bradley was ejected from the vehicle. Investigators later concluded that Bradley was driving at 109 mph when he purposely hit a tree along the rural roadway.
As the car was registered to Rosalyn Glass of North Catasauqua, police went to her home at 1106 Railroad Street as part of their investigation into the crash. There they discovered Glass dead in the home’s upstairs hallway and her daughter Rianna Glass dead in her bedroom. According to the release, Rosalyn Glass “died from 33 stab wounds” and Rianna Glass was strangled and stabbed to death.
Bradley was identified as Rianna Glass’s ex-boyfriend, and a Smith and Wesson knife that was recovered at the scene of the car crash was identified as the weapon used to kill mother and daughter, according to authorities who investigated the case.
According to the DA’s office, the 14-year-old girl who was injured in the car accident was brought to the murder scene before Bradley drove off with her in Rosalyn Glass’s vehicle.
As a result of injuries she suffered in the crash, she has had to endure 16 surgeries and “will require physical and cognitive care for the rest of her life,” the release said.
The DA’s office said Northampton County Court of Common Pleas Judge John Morganelli compared Bradley to a “rabid animal” in sentencing him to 36.5 years to life for the murder of Rosalyn Glass and 36.5 years to life for the murder of Rianna Glass, with both sentences to run consecutively, for a total of 73 years to life. Morganelli also sentenced him to 6 to 20 years fro the aggravated assault of the 14-year-old, with that sentence to run concurrently with the sentence for the murders.
