Edward H. Gross (1938 – 2025)

Edward H. Gross, 87, of Lower Saucon Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Phoebe Richlandtown Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Gerhart) Gross, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Lower Saucon Township on May 2, 1938, he was the son of the late John B. Gross Sr. and Mary B. (Yonney) Gross. Edward honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Paper Coater for WR Grace/Fibermark in Quakertown for 36 years until his retirement and later served on the grounds crew at Northampton Country Club for 10 years. A member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, Hellertown, Edward enjoyed hunting, bowling, gardening, walking and spending time with his pets. He was also a passionate fan of the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals.
SURVIVORS
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, he is survived by sons Edward W. Gross (wife, Debra B.) of Easton and John A. Gross of Quakertown; siblings Ralph C. Gross of Colchester, Conn., Marion M. Pavlinsky of Hellertown, Dorothy C. DeMasi (husband, Francis) of Bangor and Shirley A. DeMasi (husband, James) of Bethlehem; grandchildren Eliza, Kiersten, Isaac and Jason; and great-grandson Cassius. He was predeceased by his brother, John B. Gross Jr.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, 1375 Third Ave., Hellertown, PA 18055. The calling hour will be followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
