The 2025 holidays will begin in Saucon Valley and surrounding communities with tree-lightings and related events scheduled over the next few weeks.

The first will be at Promenade Saucon Valley, where Santa will appear at the lifestyle center’s annual Tree Lighting event on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. Santa will arrive at the Promenade on a fire truck, and visit with families in the stone gazebo in Town Square (next to Starbucks). During the event there will be live musical performances, face painting, live reindeer, a Santa letter writing station, a hot chocolate bar, visits with characters such as Elsa and Olaf, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Santa will light the 40-foot Christmas tree in Town Square at 7 p.m. For more information, visit the Promenade’s website, where information about other upcoming holiday events is also available.

The Christmas season will begin in Hellertown with the borough’s annual Light Up Night on Friday, Nov. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Dimmick Park. Hosted by the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the borough, this year’s festival will feature a holiday craft market inside Dewey Fire Co. No. 1, which is next to the park. There will be strolling holiday characters, wagon rides (fee), live performances, food trucks, seasonal beverage vendors, holiday activities, live reindeer, a petting zoo, kids crafts, cookie decorating and more. The highlight of the evening will be Santa’s arrival on a fire truck, and later, visits and photos with the Big Guy. More information is available on the chamber’s Light Up Night Facebook page.

Hosted by the Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, Coopersburg’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coopersburg Fire Co. No. 1 in the heart of the borough’s downtown. The festive event will feature over 25 local craft vendors, hayrides by Hausman Fruit Farm, photos with Santa, a poinsettia sale to benefit the Southern Lehigh Scholarship Fund, live reindeer, Buddy the Elf, food and beverage vendors, performances by the Girl Scout choir and the St. Joseph Church Handbell Choir, DJ Reilly and the tree-lighting just before 8 p.m. A full list of craft and food vendors along with more information about the event may be found on the chamber website.
