Anna Mae Gillard (1939 – 2025)

Anna Mae Gillard, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at Spring Village at Pocono in East Stroudsburg. Born in Hellertown on June 5, 1939, Anna Mae was the daughter of the late Howard W. Gardner Sr. and Stella (Smith) Gardner. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry L. Gillard and Robert Saylor. Anna Mae dedicated many years of service as a nurse’s aide at the former Blough Nursing Home, where she was known for her compassion and care until her retirement. She also generously volunteered with the Salvation Army, where she helped prepare meals for the homeless; a role she continued until six years ago. In her free time, Anna Mae especially enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

SURVIVORS

She is survived by her loving children: Christine L. (Don D.) Masteller of Hewitt, N.J., and Brian (Stephanie) Tupper of Phoenix, Ariz.; her siblings: Thomas E. Huff of Georgia and Flora A. (John T. Jr.) Cathers of Macungie; her cherished grandchildren: Jonathan Tupper, Dean Masteller and Eric Masteller; and her great-grandchildren: Joshua Tupper and Aidan Tupper. In addition to her husbands and parents, Anna Mae was predeceased by her siblings: Raymond C. Shook, Gustave Tonn Jr. and Howard W. Gardner Jr.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. A funeral repast will be held at The Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
