Hellertown’s former Mountainview Moravian Church will remain a religious institution following its recent sale to a local congregation.

According to Northampton County property records, the property at 331 Constitution Avenue in the borough’s Mountainview neighborhood was purchased on Jan. 22 by Lehigh Valley Brazilian Church for $510,000; the amount it was listed for last fall.

According to the church’s website, services are currently held at 51 Hillmond St., Bethlehem, which is the address of Life in Christ Church. The church’s address is also 114 W. Morton St., Bethlehem, which is the address for Broughal Middle School.

Mountainview Moravian Church parishioners voted to dissolve their 75-year-old congregation in 2024, after years of declining membership, and the last services there were held in November 2024. Last year plans were submitted to convert the building into an event center and ice cream shop, but the proposal failed to win approval from the borough’s zoning hearing board.
