William S. Getz Jr. (1954 – 2026)

William S. Getz, Jr., 71, of Upper Saucon Township, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Temple University Hospital Jeanes Campus, Philadelphia. He was the loving husband of Joelene N. (Diehl) Getz, with whom he shared 49 years of devoted marriage. Born in Bethlehem on June 3, 1954, Bill was the son of Virginia D. (Klotz) Getz of Hellertown and the late William S. Getz Sr. Bill dedicated many years of hard work as a laborer at the Handelok Bag Company in Lansdale until his retirement. He also faithfully served his community for 23 years at Acme Market. A man who valued honest work and camaraderie, Bill formed lasting friendships throughout his career. He was a man of simple pleasures and strong passions. Bill loved music and could often be found enjoying his favorite songs. He treasured time spent hunting and fishing, embraced the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle and was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports teams. One of his greatest joys was time spent at the cabin in Pike County, where he found peace in the outdoors and the beauty of nature.
