UPDATED: Police Say Missing Lower Saucon Man Found Safe

Update: Shortly after sharing a news release and flyer Thursday morning about the disappearance of 89-year-old Rodney Reichard, Lower Saucon Police said he had been located and is safe.

Lower Saucon Township Police are asking for the public’s help with locating an 89-year-old township man they say is missing and endangered.

According to a statement published on the department’s Crimewatch site Thursday, Rodney Reichard has not been home since leaving his residence on Victor Road around 2 p.m. Wednesday. At the time, he was operating a 2013 white Volvo XC70 with PA registration MWD1334.

Police said Reichard has since been spotted in Bethlehem and Hellertown, where investigators are currently processing leads.

He is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and 185 pounds with white hair.

Police said they believe Reichard may be confused and at special risk of harm or injury, and issued a Silver Alert in connection with his disappearance. Silver alerts are part of a public notification system used to locate missing seniors or individuals with cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Anyone who has seen Reichard or has information related to his whereabouts is asked to contact Lower Saucon Police at 610-759-2200 as sooon as possible.
