Richard Jon Shook (1965 – 2026)

Richard Jon Shook, 60, of Alpharetta, Ga., passed away unexpectedly at home from natural causes on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026. Rich was born July 1, 1965, in Bethlehem, Pa. He attended Saucon Valley High School and went on to graduate from Penn State University–and remained an avid Nittany Lions fan, enjoying any opportunity to fly the Penn State flag. Rich spent 34 years in corporate sales in the packaging industry. He was dedicated and passionate about his career, with no talk of retiring. He truly loved his work. He was a successful Senior Account Executive with Rusken Packaging and his career prior to that included many years at companies that were acquired or merged together: WestRock, Kapstone, U.S. Corrugated, Smurfit-Stone and RockTenn. A true family man in every sense, Rich was as loving and devoted a husband and father as anyone could imagine. He was a humble, unassuming man; someone who did not seek attention, but who always paid attention. If you needed him, he seemed to appear out of nowhere, intuitively knowing how to connect at just the right time with a helping hand, a great idea and even with something as simple as a big smile and a “How’s it going?” Rich was a friend to everyone he met, never judging and always finding–and sharing–positivity. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, kindness and integrity. Rich loved sports, playing golf, relaxing at the lake, and most of all, snow skiing with his family and friends. He was always the last one off of the hill!

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rosalyn; son, Drake, whom he adored; father, Richard Shook; sister, Diane Shook Schultz; and brother, Brian Shook (Derek). He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Shook.
