Baron Lee ‘Barry’ Chase (1953 – 2026)

Baron Lee “Barry” Chase, 72, of Hellertown, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem on July 10, 1953, he was the son of Alice Levenia (Barwick) Wallace and the late Wasyl Charles Chase. Barry proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during wartime for 18 years. Following his military service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic, continuing his dedication to precision and service. He was 100 percent disabled and carried the pride of his service throughout his life. Barry was a devoted and patriotic member of the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 in Hellertown. He will be remembered as a proud veteran, a hardworking man and someone who held deep love for his family, children and country.
SURVIVORS
Barry is survived by his children, Tamra Lee Chase and her husband, Gene William Sung, of Cheltenham, and Grant Michael Chase of Hellertown; his brothers, Stephen Charles of Bethlehem and Jeffery Wasyl and his wife, Susan, of Allentown; and his half-siblings, Darlene Chase and Harold Longenbach, both of Bethlehem. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by brothers, Wasyl and Michael.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to a visitation period from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The visitation period will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Military honors will be accorded. A repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans following the services.
