80-Year-Old Mauled by Dog in 5-Minute Attack: Police
Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin say they are investigating an attack by a dog on an 80-year-old woman in upper Bucks County.
According to a June 10 news release, the attack happened on the afternoon of May 25 on Old Bethlehem Road in Springfield Township.
Police said the woman was walking towards a paddock where a horse she was grooming was confined when she passed a vehicle that had its rear windows down. Inside the vehicle were two dogs, one of which leaped through one of the open windows and attacked the woman.
“(The dog) attacked the victim for approximately five minutes, as it bit (her) face and would not let go,” the release said.
Police said the woman suffered “serious” facial injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Bethlehem Campus in Fountain Hill for emergency reconstructive facial surgery.
