NJ Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Williams Twp.

State Police at Belfast are investigating a crash in Williams Township that claimed the life of a 48-year-old Phillipsburg man Sunday evening.

According to a news release, the accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Delaware Drive, which is the name of that part of Rt. 611.

Police said Nathan D. Giamoni was riding a 2014 Harley-Davidson Low Rider motorcycle southbound when he lost control of it “for unknown reasons.”

Giamoni was thrown from the motorcycle, which police said slid into the northbound lane, where it was struck by an SUV with two occupants from East Bangor.

According to the news release, both the motorcycle and the SUV–a 2024 Volvo XC60–then caught fire in the roadway.

The 57-year-old male driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus for treatment of suspected injuries and his 55-year-old female passenger suffered a suspected minor injury and was also transported to the hospital, the release said.

According to police, Giamoni was pronounced dead at the scene by the Northampton County Coroner’s office.

Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The accident is under investigation by state police, who were assisted at the scene by Williams Township Fire Co. and Easton Emergency Squad.
