New St. Luke’s Facility in Hellertown Will Offer Urgent Care, More

A new medical facility that is part of St. Luke’s University Health Network will soon open in Hellertown, and will offer urgent care in the community, which has been without such a facility for a number of years.

According to a mailer many residents of the area recently received, St. Luke’s Health Center – Hellertown at 110 Main Street will open Aug. 24.

Located in a former Rite Aid drugstore, the health center will house a number of different health-related services under one roof, including a family practice clinic, an X-ray center, laboratory services, occupational medicine and an urgent care center.

St. Luke’s Care Now Walk-in Care will provide “fast, convenient care for minor illnesses and injuries, including the common cold, fever, flu, sinus infections, broken bones, sprains, strains and more,” according to the mailer. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Signage for the new St. Luke’s Health Center – Hellertown went up this week. The facility is expected to open Aug. 24.

St. Luke’s Saucon Valley Family Practice, which was formerly located in a building on Front Street, will continue to provide primary care to community members, including new patients, who can call 484-526-5255 to learn more or schedule an appointment.

“You can expect the same great care team and convenient hours, now in our brand-new location, featuring 15 exam rooms to better serve our patients,” the literature said.

St. Luke’s Laboratory Services will be available for specimen collection Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. “Most major insurances” will be accepted and appointments aren’t necessary, the mailer said.

The Walk-in X-ray center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is also a walk-in facility. It will also accept most major insurances. Walk-in patients should bring a doctor’s prescription, insurance card and photo ID with them for diagnostic X-rays that will be read by St. Luke’s radiologists.

Offering custom solutions for businesses of all sizes, St. Luke’s Occupational Medicine will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available by calling 908-847-5257 or at Sluhn.org/occmed.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is also completing a facility that will house various specialties under one roof at the north end of Hellertown.

Workers were putting the finishing touches on the new St. Luke’s Health Center – Hellertown on Wednesday. The 15,000 square foot medical center will be located in a former Rite Aid at 110 Main Street and will house a primary care doctor’s office, a walk-in clinic, lab services and other offices.
