Ruth M. (Myers) Gerding (1958 – 2026)

Ruth M. (Myers) Gerding, 68, of Durham Township, Bucks County, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Scot B. Gerding, with whom she celebrated 45 years of marriage this past April. Born in Chestnut Hill on May 29, 1958, Ruth was the daughter of the late Louis Henry and Virginia (Geist) Myers. She held a variety of secretarial and bookkeeping positions throughout her life, but most importantly, she devoted many cherished years to staying home and raising her children. Ruth was a vibrant, deeply social person who genuinely enjoyed the company of others. A thoughtful and giving woman, her kindness made others feel loved, and her presence made a house feel like home. Above all, Ruth’s greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She was also a devoted animal lover who adored all her kitties. Ruth’s beautiful spirit touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her loving husband, Scot, she is survived by children: Bret M. Gerding and his wife, Katie, of Hellertown, Kelly L. Benner and her husband, Ian, of Hellertown; grandchildren: Townes, Nile, Taddy and Levi; siblings: Janet M. Coppage and her husband, Ken, of Lansdale; Joyce Jacoby of Hatboro; Roy Myers and his companion, Colleen Slifer, of Perkasie.

SERVICES

A memorial gathering will be held at from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12, 2026 at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans, 326 Main Street (Rear), Hellertown, PA. The Celebration of Life will begin at 12 noon. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with the family at Heintzelmancares.com.

CONTRIBUTIONS

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s honor may be made to the humane society to support her lifelong love for animals.
