Hellertown Restaurant is Temporarily Closed, Facebook Post States

Restaurant Closed — This sign–which bears the same message posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page–was hung on the side door of 1774 Grille & Tap in Hellertown Wednesday.

An upscale restaurant that opened in a landmark downtown Hellertown building less than two years ago is temporarily closed due to unforeseen circumstances, according to signs posted on its doors and a post on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon.

The post states:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances 1774 Grille & Tap will be temporarily closed. Please check our Facebook page for updates as they are available. Thank you for your patronage!”

1774 Grille & Tap, located at 605 Main St., Hellertown, serves New American cuisine, offers indoor and outdoor seating, and has hosted live music as well as special events since it opened inside the former Ricardo’s Mexican restaurant following extensive remodeling in February 2017.

A message to the page that was sent late last week–inquiring about whether the restaurant had plans to close–had not been replied to, as of Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday afternoon, one party of three was seen approaching the restaurant’s front door on Main Street, only to find it unexpectedly locked.
