Kenneth K. Gressler of Quakertown, Pa., passed away on Nov. 11, 2024. He was 91. Born in Allentown, Pa., he was the son of the late Alfred and Lillian Gressler. He was predeceased by his wife Carole A. (Fluck) Gressler in 2016 and his sister Dolores Bast in 2022. He was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1951. Kenneth was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and serving during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, Kenneth attended St. Louis University Parks College of Aeronautical Technology, receiving his federal license as a certified aircraft mechanic. He was employed by United Air Lines based in Philadelphia for 34 years, retiring in 1993. Ken then embarked on a second career, serving as a Fire Forest Warden for the DCNR. He was a life member of the Springtown Fire Company, the NRA, Hellertown Sportsmen’s Club, Springtown Rod and Gun Club, Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association and a congregant of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley.

SURVIVORS

He is survived by daughter: Gelsey Lorish and her husband Gary Achey of Bluffton, S.C.; nieces and nephews.

SERVICES

A funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with his family at HeintzelmanCares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown, Pa.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., or Hellertown Sportsmen’s Club, where Daddy spent many happy hours sharpening his skill on the pistol range.
