Promenade Business Closes Abruptly

The Hive

A relatively new business at the Promenade Saucon Valley has abruptly closed its doors after its owner posted on Facebook that it was struggling with “cash flow” problems.

Described as a “curated marketplace showcasing a diverse mix of handcrafted goods,” the Hive featured the works of various artisan vendors–including food, clothing and gifts. Its location at the Upper Saucon Township lifestyle center opened in April 2025, following the closure of a location in downtown Allentown. A second Hive location was located in Nazareth borough.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Facebook page for the Hive appeared to have been taken offline. It also appeared that its other social media channels were unlisted or had been removed.

Vendors reportedly are owed money for items that were sold at the business.

Before the page was taken down, in the statement posted on Facebook, the business’s owner MaKayla Adams stated that any money owed was a result of the insufficient cash flow on which the closure was being blamed.

The business was still listed on the Promenade Saucon Valley website as of Tuesday afternoon.
