Panther senior Zach Petiet has no shortage of highlight runs throughout his career. Well, here is another that he made in the 1st Quarter of the Panther victory against the Catasauqua Rough Riders. It was a basic "lead" play, where fullback Christian "Mongo" Alling led Petiet through the line of scrimmage. Petiet would cut off Mongo's lead block and use his speed to the end zone.
Yesterday the Saucon Valley high school girls' soccer team defeated the Palmerton Blue Bombers by a 5-0 score. Ā Saucon was paced by junior Brooke Riefenstahl and her four goals. Ā Senior Mackenzie Dickey added another in the Panther victory. Ā Saucon Valley improved to a 3-1-2 overall record and remain unbeaten (2-0-2) in the Colonial League.
The Saucon Valley Panthers and their 2-1 record now turn their full attention to the Catasauqua Rough Riders for another Friday night football fight. TheĀ Roughies currently hold a 2-1. Their two wins were over Northern Lehigh (38-20) and Pen Argyl (17-14). Ā Week One, the Roughies lost a shootout to Salisbury 47-29. Ā There is a lot laying on the line in this game. This contest will be a battle to see who can win and stay near the top of Colonial League standings while the loser slides back to mediocrity.
