Watch: Hellertown-Lower Saucon Community Day from Above (VIDEO)

Hellertown-Lower Saucon Community Day was held Saturday and drew hundreds of local residents to Dimmick Park, where more than 70 vendors representing dozens of local businesses and organizations were gathered. The day was filled with music, demonstrations, food and much more. The 2017 Community Commitment Award was presented to longtime Hellertown mayor Richard Fluck, who is retiring at the end of the year after 47 years of public service to the borough.

Saucon Valley Sharp in Fleetwood Scrimmage

Phil Sams' Saucon Valley football squad had their way with the Fleetwood Tigers in Saturday's first and only preseason scrimmage. Fleetwood is a 5A team compared to Saucon at 4A, but the Tigers are 4-16 their last two seasons in the Berks County Football League.  Even though Saucon Valley was breaking in a new set of Hogs, a new quarterback and a new defensive scheme, it was crystal clear that the Panthers were superior to the Tigers on this day.

‘Threatening’ Email Sent to 8th and 9th Grade Saucon Students

Although school won't be back in session for about two weeks, an email that was sent to hundreds of Saucon Valley students Tuesday is being taken seriously and investigated by police because of its threatening content, officials said.
