Jaycees, Leo Club Serve Local Seniors Free Thanksgiving Dinner

The Saucon Valley Jaycees with help from the Saucon Valley High School Leo Club and support from Dewey Fire Company No. 1 hosted their annual free Thanksgiving dinner for Hellertown and Lower Saucon senior citizens at the fire company social hall on Saturday, Nov. 22. More than 100 seniors attended the dinner, which was served by the students and included turkey with all the fixings. Meanwhile, Dewey volunteers delivered take-out meals by fire truck to seniors not well enough to attend the event. A donated gift basket raffle was also a highlight of the meal, which always serves to highlight the spirit of community in the Saucon Valley.
