Taps Tavern will become Lower Saucon Township’s newest dining destination when it opens on the site of the former Starters Pub in early 2015.

Owner Andy Lee–who also owns Braveheart Highland Pub and Restaurant in Hellertown–said Tuesday that he anticipates a late January or early February opening for Taps, which will feature more than 30 draft beers, a full menu of American fare, a stone-fronted fireplace, a plethora of flatscreen TVs and a sunny room for private parties.

Lee said the building on the edge of the Saucon Square parking lot is basically brand new, as he pointed out changes to the bathrooms, including the installation of tile floors and the relocation of the facilities themselves.

Other noteworthy design touches will include a massive rectangular black granite bar, custom floor-to-ceiling wood paneling, crown molding, pendant lighting, hardwood flooring in the main dining area and a TV in the waiting area.

A Facebook page for Taps Tavern–where updates on the construction progress are being posted–has already attracted hundreds of followers.
