When is the Saucon Creek Arts Festival?
A one-day arts festival that will feature works for sale by dozens of artists will be held later this month in Lower Saucon Township.
The first-ever Saucon Creek Arts Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain or shine) along the banks of the Saucon Creek at Heller Homestead Park, 1890 Friedensville Road, Bethlehem.
According to a flyer, the festival will feature more than 60 juried fine artists and craft artisans, old-time straw broom-making demonstrations by Jeff Heilman from Lebanon, Pa., an indoor art exhibit featuring the art by members of the Bethlehem Palette Club, and arts & crafts for kids, including special hands-on experiential art projects for children with autism.
Tours of the historic Heller Homestead, food and live music will also be offered, and satellite parking will be available at Lehigh’s Goodman Campus with “continuous and accessible shuttle service to the festival grounds,” according to a news release.
A suggested $3 parking donation will benefit the Saucon Valley Conservancy.
Proceeds from the arts festival “will go to support the conservancy’s educational services for students, preservation of its historic buildings and the continued stabilization of the historic barn ruins on the site,” the release said. “Sponsors helping to support the event include the Autism Society of America Lehigh Valley Affiliate, David Hausman Designs, Godfrey Daniels and ArtsQuest.”
The live music lineup for the day presented by Godfrey Daniels is as follows:
10 a.m. – Mike Holliday
11 a.m. – John Bolles
12 p.m. – Dave Reber
1 p.m. – Bill Schachter
2 p.m. – Scott Marshall and & the Hillbilly Souls
3 p.m. – Not for Coltrane
4 p.m. – Dave Fry
The Saucon Creek Arts Festival is sponsored by the Saucon Valley Conservancy.
A Facebook event page states that sponsors and volunteers are still needed.
