Bald Eagle Spotted Near Rail Trail in Hellertown

An eagle-eyed Saucon Source reader spotted a truly rare bird high up in a tree in Hellertown Tuesday.

To be more specific, the bird was a bald eagle.

According to the reader, who submitted the photo via email, the majestic avian symbol of American freedom was spotted near the Saucon Rail Trail, just north of Water Street Park in the borough.

Appropriately enough, the sighting occurred on Veterans Day.
