A Saucon Valley restaurant that specializes in Greek cuisine was recently named the “Best Mediterranean” restaurant in the Lehigh Valley.

Lehigh Valley Style awarded the honor to Yianni’s Taverna as part of its 2014 Decadent Dish awards, which are featured in the current issue, both online and in the print version of the magazine sold in stores.

The magazine wrote that at Yianni’s, “it tastes like you’re dining along the Aegean, but Mediterranean perfection can be found in Bethlehem.”

Although it has a Bethlehem mailing address, the restaurant–which was Gus’s Crossroads in another life–is actually located at 3760 Old Philadelphia Pike in Lower Saucon Township.

Menus, hours and other information can be found on Yianni’s Taverna’s website, its Facebook page or by calling 610-867-8821.

Other nearby restaurants that earned honors included Bolete (“Favorite Special Occasion” restaurant), Shula’s Steak House at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley (“Favorite Steakhouse”) and White Orchids Thai Cuisine at the Promenade Shops (“Favorite Thai” and “Favorite Asian”).
