Orville L. Bishop, 83, of Hellertown (OBITUARY)

Orville L. Bishop, 83, of Hellertown, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Donchetz) Bishop (died Feb. 5, 2014). He was born in Honesdale on Sept. 5, 1931 to the late Wesley and Alma (Smith) Bishop. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Orville was a custodian at the former Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 and the Hellertown Democratic Club, and attended St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS

Daughters: Donna (Guy) Marsteller of New Ringold, Lisa J. Roberts of Hellertown, Lora J. Rader of Tamaqua; sister: Joyce Bright of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rosann Bishop, in 2009.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
