Lower Saucon Township Police say an Allentown man will be charged with theft by deception because he allegedly failed to repair a washing machine after cashing a check for $260 that was payment for the work.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said Brandon Lettich, 27, of the 1600 block of Whitehall Avenue, took payment for the repair Dec. 2 from an 86-year-old township man.

Despite numerous attempts to get Lettich to repair the machine, police said it is still broken.

According to police, a warrant had been obtained and was to be served on Lettich.
