Lower Saucon Township Police say a Springfield Township, Bucks County man was charged Monday after he allegedly set off a fire alarm to create a distraction at the police station while he was being processed there on public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges.

In a news release issued Friday, police said Wayne Rodgers, 31, of the first block of Nice Road, Quakertown, was stopped along with Shawn Wright, 31, of the 3300 block of Easton Avenue, Bethlehem Township, at Old Philadelphia Pike and Rt. 378.

Police said Wright, the driver of the vehicle, fled the scene of the traffic stop on foot and was later charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and driving on a suspended license.

They added that Wright was also wanted on warrants out of Palmer Township.
