Helen T. “Chevie” Shivok, 95, of Hellertown, passed into her new life on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. She was born in Hellertown on May 28, 1919 to the late Michael Shivok and Mary E. (Bacak) Shivok Kovach. She was a professional seamstress for 50 years in the textile industry. Helen was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, its Senior Citizens, and was an avid bowler. Her motto was to “live and let live, and to each their own.” She was a very giving person who was supportive of her family and friends. Helen had a passion for clothing and always dressed “to the nines.”

SURVIVORS

Niece: Francine Torok-Williams wife of Larry Williams, with whom she resided; grandniece: Stephanie Williams; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings: John and Michael Shivok, Martin, Paul, John Kovach, Mary Ferencin and Anna Torok.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at her church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
