Est. Read Time: < 1 min

A phony bomb threat called in to a popular local Greek restaurant forced its evacuation Sunday night and will result in charges against a teenage boy, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Monday.

According to police, the bomb threat was made by a 16-year-old who called Yianni’s Taverna, 3760 Old Philadelphia Pike, shortly after 9 p.m.

Police said that after patrons and employees of the restaurant were evacuated, the threat was traced to an Allentown residence where the boy allegedly admitted to using a cell phone to call it in.

Police said the teen will be charged by Northampton County Juvenile Probation authorities with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
