“Jason stands for everything we want in a student athlete,” said Shirk, who told a crowded meeting room that he’s known Lynch since he was a “grasshopper.”

“Everything he’s earned, he’s worked hard for,” he added. “I’m extremely proud of him.”

“You are the kind of person who we want all of our students to grow into,” McHale-Small told Lynch.

Lynch has also been named the 2015 District XI AA Wrestling Scholar Athlete.

Saucon wrestler Jack Hill–a junior who along with Lynch placed at the 2015 PIAA State Wrestling Tournament in Hershey in March–was also recognized for his achievements, but could not be present at the meeting.
