Lower Saucon Township Police say a 31-year-old township man who allegedly lunged at passing vehicles and struck a mailbox while walking along Reading Drive Monday afternoon was drunk when he did so.

In a news release issued Wednesday, police said Michael Davis, of the 1800 block of Leithsville Road, “was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol and was observed to be stumbling and staggering while speaking with police” who approached him at Reading Drive and Rt. 412 shortly after 2:30 p.m.

Davis was cited for public drunkenness, police said.
