GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA, earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Only 5.4 percent of eligible Girl Scouts successfully earn the Gold Award. To earn the Gold Award scouts must plan and conduct a “Take Action” project that benefits the community beyond Girl Scouts. The project requires a minimum of 80 hours of work, with the hours being solely conducted by the participant. The Saucon Valley Service Unit is proud to be able to acknowledge one of their own who recently earned her gold award challenge.

Brooke Lichak

To earn her Gold Award, Brooke created and implemented safety and medical emergency training for several middle schools in the Saucon Valley area. Her program has been adopted by Moravian Academy, and will be part of the middle school curriculum for years to come.
